Farolitos - Mexico
Guest Artist: Aleida Castro
Sunday December 1
Time 11 AM- 2 PM
Farolitos, also called luminarias, are traditional holiday lanterns from the Southwestern U.S., especially New Mexico. Made by placing a candle in sand inside a paper bag, farolitos are arranged along walls, roofs, and walkways to create a warm, glowing display on Christmas Eve. Variations include electric versions and, in Northern New Mexico, bonfires known locally as luminarias.

Feast of the 7 Fishes- Italy

The Feast of the Seven Fishes is an Italian American Christmas Eve tradition featuring seven seafood dishes, rooted in Southern Italy’s “La Vigilia” (The Vigil). This meal honors the Roman Catholic practice of abstaining from meat until Christmas Day, marking the anticipation of Jesus’ birth with a festive seafood feast.

Origami & Calligraphy- Japan
Special Guest: Japanese Kizuna Society

Japanese calligraphy, introduced from China in the 6th century, evolved unique styles over time. Origami, also from the 6th century, transformed from a practical craft into a celebrated art form, especially during the Edo period, fostering community and gaining international acclaim.

​Join us as the Japanese Kizuna Society leads us through origami designs. This program is
