Celebrate the harmony of art, culture, and nature at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum’s Harmony in Diversity Day on April 19, 2025. This special event showcases local artists, musicians, and creators as they share their unique experiences inspired by the natural world. From live performances and poetry to hands-on workshops and cultural demonstrations, the day is packed with activities for the whole family. Check out the full schedule below and plan your visit!


Cultural Arts

11:30am - 12:15pm

Location: Marine Life Exhibit


10:15am - 11:00am: Writing Workshop with Joylynn Ross – Join Joylynn for a creative writing workshop designed for all ages. This drop-in session provides writing prompts and an opportunity to explore your imagination.

11:30am - 11:45am: LV Kaminari Taiko (Taiko Drums) – Experience the powerful rhythms of traditional Japanese Taiko drumming performed by LV Kaminari Taiko.

11:45am - 12:00pm: Ikebana Arts (Flower Arrangement) by Kika Shibata – Discover the art of Ikebana, the traditional Japanese practice of flower arrangement.

12:00pm - 12:15pm: Calligraphy Demonstration by Yuko Yamada (with the Kizuna Society) – Watch Yuko Yamada bring the beauty of Japanese calligraphy to life in this mesmerizing demonstration.

Flute Performance by Flavio Martinez

12:45pm - 1:15pm

Location: Entrance to Treasures of Egypt

Enjoy the soothing melodies of Flavio Martinez’s flute performance at the entrance to the Treasures of Egypt exhibit.


Cello Performance by Ted Hartwell

1:15pm - 1:45pm

Location: In front of Eagle Statue

Immerse yourself in the rich sounds of Ted Hartwell’s cello performance near the Eagle exhibit.


Poetry Readings

1:45pm - 2:45pm

Location: Africa Savanna Exhibit


1:45pm - 2:00pm: Vogue M. Robinson shares inspiring poetry.

2:00pm - 2:15pm: Jennifer Battisti delivers heartfelt poems.

2:15pm - 2:30pm: Penehuro Williams captivates with unique verses.

2:30pm - 2:45pm: Scorpio [Cam Calloway] wraps up the session with soulful music.


Live Painting Demonstrations

11:00am - 12:00pm: Steven Horlock brings his artistic vision to life.

12:00pm - 1:00pm: Clarice Cuda creates her masterpiece.

1:00pm - 2:00pm: Andrea Knox showcases her creative process.

2:00pm - 3:00pm: Sara Godbout finishes the day with her live painting.
