Meet Our Olympic Sharks!

theresanguyen1

In the summer of 2016, the Las Vegas Natural History Museum hatched bamboo shark eggs, three of which were named after Olympic swimmers: Michael Phelps, Lilly King, and Las Vegas local, Cody Miller.

This project helped expose the community to a special part of the natural world. In the museum's Marine Life gallery, the eggs could be seen on display all throughout their incubation period.

Today, those sharks are living happily in the museum's shark tank. You can come see them at any time or at one of our shark feedings, every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
